 The Community Manifesto

Though the title speaks for itself, and the contents center around a fairly defined topic, all the intentions of the Otherkin Community had not been made clear. Members of the community should understand its focus - not grab at guesses floating through the air. What is the Otherkin Community? Why is it here?

The Otherkin Community was initially founded under a different name with one idea in mind: educate the world on metaphysics. This goal still holds true today, though others have since then developed. This planet is filled with a torrent of misconceptions and judgments that, for the better good, should be laid to rest. From those misconceptions spews intolerance, ridicule, and discrimination. By no means can the community expect to solve such issues; we are here to help reduce the amount of misconceptions thrown around. Increased tolerance will lead to willingness to learn, and that returns us to our first goal.

The second goal of the community, when renamed to 'The Otherkin Community', was, and still is, to provide a safe haven for all Otherkin. The community is divided into two sections - Otherkin and metaphysics. Everyone is welcome to either, and everyone is encouraged to keep an open mind. Intolerance is not tolerated in the community - the number one rule being respect. This community will not be allowed to loose stability or integrity. All rules will be readily enforced by administrators and moderators. This will allow for a friendly community where everyone will be able to discuss their experiences with each other away from the ridicule of the outside world.

The third goal goes hand in hand with the first - to research metaphysics and provide a sound scientific foundation for future endeavors in the field, and to help further explain the world in which we live in, and just as importantly, the bodies we inhabit. It is obvious this goal is quite bold; it is therefore separated into smaller goals, much more manageable by a smaller community.

- The starting community will do whatever it can with the materials and resources at its disposal to research these fields and attempt to provide developed theories through basic experimentation and discussion.

- During this time, we hope to attract other scientific communities and individuals that may aid us in this process. Individuals with backgrounds in common scientific fields (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc) will be of great aid - metaphysics holds connections to all modern fields of science.

- The community also hopes to gain funding for future projects from both its members and outside communities. This funding will allow for greater experiments.

The community, in time, also hopes to father a committee of Otherkin that will be responsible for overlooking all of the community's efforts globally. The committee will contain a number of divisions, the main being the public relations and science divisions. The public relations division will be responsible for communicating any information to the world, as well as organizing public (as well as private) gatherings. The science division will work to fulfill the metaphysical goals of this community. The committee also hopes, in time, to gain acceptance from outside communities.

Last, but not least, the community hopes to gather people from all over the world in the hopes of sharing these views and goals, and providing a strong, stable discussion area for the topics presented. We also hope to unite Otherkin separated, and to help Otherkin to thrive in this different world by providing support and guidance. This community is to be a home - everything will be controlled by the members. Everyone can contribute. Members will also, upon creation of the new community website, be able to create and manage their own communities, public or private. The new community will also provide a number of resources to aid Otherkin, such as journals, references, FAQs, etc. The community with provide others with a surplus of articles and information on the researched topics in the hopes of fulfilling our first goal of educating the world.

It is assured that the community will always exist to provide support for its members. Though the community is intended to be supported by its members, the founder, Clodaus, vows to, whenever needed, including throughout the start of the community until stability is gained, always provide the financial aid required to keep the community up and running.

Everyone in the community is equal; members are respected no less than moderators or administrators. Those parties, including the committee, will interact as any other member, or risk suspension from their position. The Otherkin Community is a collective body of individuals, not a single entity, living and interacting in harmony and stability to lead the world into a new age. Each will be recognized and respected as their own. There are no boundaries of race, no boundaries of beliefs, no boundaries of origin. Everyone is invited, and everyone is welcome.

We are the Otherkin Community, and this is our manifesto.
