I recently came across the following article that I'm sure many people here will find interest in. However, I haven't read into it enough to state the validity of the research, so don't go starting a discussion on how this shows that something really will happen in 2012. Possible? Sure. Definite? No.

Should the research be correct, however, that would bring some exciting news to my research into the "Veil" possibly being, in whole or in part, the Earth's geomagnetic field, should it actually exist. (Again, I feel it necessary to mention I neither support nor condone the topic, and any research I may do on it presets theories as to how it may possibly exist, not whether or not it does exist.)

ok this is my opinion on the matter. Most people as fa as i can tell talk about the year 2012 as being the year that will kill all of man kind and yes it in a sense. I know that there is a huge solar storm that is suppose to hit earth in the year 2012 but it will be man itself that will deterime if it lives or dies. i watched a program on nostradamus and the lost book. In the program it talked about the year 2012. How it went basicly he was holding the book of life to man saying write down in the book what is going to happen if you don't then all of man kind will die. And that is very true if man does not act up then tere is a strong chance that every living being on the planet will die. the cause to this death will not be by some super storm, a comsic event, or some other natural event. It will be mans fault for killing itself

I used to belong to an entire forum of people who are planning for this eventuality... however, what the place actually is is a rather irritating shouting-ground of conflicting interests and people loudly expousing theories at each other, and this is mostly fuelled by the fact that there is no "tolerance policy" in their rules like on here... there may be other, better places, but I aven't found them.
I do, however, own a book on the subject and am working on a plan for if it does come to pass.

Do note that this thread is intended for a scientific discussion and not Veil lore. Not that I have a problem with the comments, I just want to ensure it doesn't go far since we have a number of other threads for such discussion. Though there is a great deal of speculation on elements such as 2012 and the Veil, there is very little evidence to support the claims at this time.

This is just the 2 theories I have:
1. in 2012 on the date determined all the otherkin on the planet will shift out of their human bodies and into their "true" forms. That is my "Unlikely Theory"
2. absolutely nothing will happen and it was all an enormously well planned prank by the gods to have a good laugh and to teach us all to live each day as if it were our last. Hey the gods gotta get a kick outta something right. Heck I will laugh my butt off if absolutely nothing happens. That is my "Likely Theory". I am gonna take that day off just to see what happens.
the day in question being December 20th 2012. Ironically that is the winter solstice which in Wicca represents the day that the God dies. He is then reborn on...*goes and looks it up*...the morning after. O.o ok well I can't believe I had to look that up...I am a little ashamed of myself.
