Oh the floaters were another thing I was talking about that I've had for quite some time. The static I ws describing is separate.
I thought about colored dots, but they look so different. Putting color aside, the staticy dots are much finer. Is this still the same concept you're referring too? Thanks for the info - I'll take a look at it in more detail once I have power back and I'm not being tortured by thr small screen and slow speeds of a blackberry.

I see the same thing if I focus. Mainly if I look up at the sky and the "dots" swirl. I usually categorize it as seeing energy. I have several instances where I can see energy and such. Whether it be internal energy, heat, etc. It's all the same thing. Energy. I'm also very sensitive to seeing it, well used to be, and I saw auras all the time. It happens.
I doub there is anything wrong with your eyes. It's just nonsense as it is anyways to say so in my opinion. If you have a defect as in you can't see or your eye is bleeding, etc. then that is the most recommended time to see somebody.
Eh.
Cheers!

Hm. For me, when I look at something and kind of focus on a general area (but not one specific thing, like not a pen but the area around a pen), I see a very fine, kind of like how sand is fine when you look at it from a distance, just very small but still distinguishable, colorless, and I want to say invisible dots that are just visible enough to see. They do move around, but I can't tell if it's in a pattern or not, sometimes it seems like they are but then it'll change and it doesn't anymore. I don't know if it's a medical thing, or if it's energy. I just always thought it was energy, but to be honest I never put too much thought into it.

Veritas and ivy, what makes you think this is "seeing energy" as opposed to visual distortions caused by the liquid on your eyes, or eye refreshing?

Ah! Light scattered by blood cells, never thought of that. May explain why it's flowing in every direction. The last link was very helpful. The first two were very interesting as well. Thank you very much, Shiari You seem to have found it. How, I wonder - considering I described it the same way. Maybe I just didn't search enough.
You have no idea how satisfying it is to finally understand the concept behind one of the many visual oddities human sight provides. We've knocked down the two main ones I have in this post (well, elaborated on the one I already knew - floaters).
I'm moving this topic from the Metaphysical forums to the Biology forums.

It took me half an hour to find those.
My search was various combinations of the following:
rod cone visual eyes refresh reset rate seeing static

heh, well thank you for putting in the time I very much appreciate it. Especially to silence the whole "You're seeing energy" thing.
Though I suppose that depends on how you define it. Light would technically fit into "energy" with my research, and it does match with what I sense...but that doesn't change that fact that it's light. And you're seeing the blood cells, so it wouldn't be energy.

I get those, too, and I know a few other people who get them as well. When you look at them, say you see them on the right side of your vision, then you look right, and then they all of a sudden start floating right when before they were stationary. Yeah...I have no idea what they are, unfortuntely. Someone told me that they were fairies, but I believe that they are just something foreign in your eye. Dust particles or something of that nature.

The question as to what the flowing dots are has already been answered in this thread. Please see the above posts by Shiari.

A doctor is likely to be more useful than a forum of otherkin.
Strange visual disturbances can be rooted in serious neurological problems, though without any other symptoms that is highly unlikely. Regardless, minor visual illusions like that are common when looking at brightly lit surfaces. |
Well, I was hoping others here have heard of the disorder/experience/whatever, and actually know what it is, so I can avoid such a visit I don't have the time to seek out a neurological doctor for something this small, unfortunately. Getting one for my migraine headaches (which I should have mentioned above - possible connection?) was hell.
If migraines could be a possible connection, it may be useful to note that the dots are always visible, while the migraines occur very rarely (now that my stress level's reduced). With migranes I primarily get visual disturbances (partially blind - things disappear and such), and rarely a migraine headache to follow. I have not had a visual migraine in years, though I have headaches 24/7 (tension and sinus).
But..I'll continue looking on my own in the meantime. You have no idea how hard it is to search for this when you don't know a term. |
I was going to say that it could just be the very small particles that tend to get in your eye and float around. I like to look at them from time to time. So tiny. I hate dust in my eye, yet these are so tiny that they don't irritate the surface. Small enough to be coated by the wetness, you might say. Of course, then you mentioned migraines. I recall my mother mentioning floating dots such as the ones you mentioned and eventually she went to see her doctor about it. I believe it had something to do with her migraines. I think you really should see the doctor about your migraines again, and tell him about these dots.

I had gone to the doctor regarding my migranes a while ago. Once I stopped attending highschool to be homeschooled years back, the stress vanished, and so did the migraines. The cause of the flowing dots has already been discussed above. I've spoken with a number of other individuals with the same experiences who do not suffer from any chronic head pains or headaches, though I do appreciate your input.
