I haven't read all of this thread, and I'm sorry for that.. but to the original subject of the thread:
I've had both deja vu and this other one, jamais vu, very often for much of my life. I used to get the Jamais vu sometimes two or three times a day when I was still at high school. In the middle of classes, walking to school, in the middle of conversations, in the shower, on the toilet, eating, watching movies... all the time. I could never find any consistency with it. About half of the deja vu's were associated with dreams that had those moments in them.
Since I've gotten treatment for other conditions and started taking melatonin for my sleep processes it's gone down to maybe once a week unless I miss out on sleep or something stresses me out. I just figured it was a part of being... weird... lol. I didn't realise it's linked to a form of epilepsy and potentially other mental illnesses.
The deja vu is so normal it doesn't bother me any more, but the not recognising everything used to scare the bejesus out of me, especially when it was a complete lack of understanding what was around me. I wouldn't even recognise English or know who I was.. like.. all of a sudden nothing would make recognisable sense. I've been known to speak "jibberish" in those complete phasing out moments. Though I haven't had a complete one for years and years. These days they're only a moment of "where am I? what the heck is that thing? Oh.. it's a human.. oops". Lol.
That actually worries me a little to find out that they're a common symptom of a form of epilepsy... hrm.. more research.
But my original intention was to say that yes, I've had both and frequently..

Re the jibberish:
That's also fairly common for me. Sometimes it coincides with the jamais vu, sometimes it doesn't.
It's very strange when it happens, though. It's like I go into another "mode" for a brief moment and just spew out random crap, until I snap out of it, replay what I just said in my head, realize my mistake, and then laugh along with everyone else.
How does it happen for you?

I have two phases of the gibberish thing, one is actual gibberish and that usually comes with other things like when I'm not recognising things or when the world sort of goes grey for a few moments, the second I discovered after writing all the gibberish down was actually a language that repeated itself consistently and with structure, when that comes it's usually not with the jamais vu symptoms, often it happens when I'm stressed out, panicking or tired.

Hmm, I'm noticing a pattern (yes, three is a small number to see a pattern in, but it's a common theme nonetheless): it can happen with the Jamais Vu, where everything is unrecognizable, or without. Interesting.
It's also interesting that you discovered that if formed a language, 'Ara. I do remember you posting something about that some time ago.
Not jumping to conclusions, but it would be kinda neat if we were all remembering languages. XD
(I doubt it is in my case though, or at least not kin-related. If I indeed had a past life as a nature spirit/fairy, I don't think I would have had a language. Could be from a human life though...)

The language thing has been happening since I was about eleven or twelve and the instances have been in their thousands, I have entire books filled with things I've said and what I'd intended to say as a comparison. Though, I suspect the language stuff is unrelated to the jamais vu because there's no comparable pattern for me with the weird experiences linked to this jamais vu and the instances of language outbursts. *shrugs* But don't really know.
It would be really fascinating if we could discern whether these experiences were supernatural or biological. I mean, if we could discern that it was definitely supernatural or a past life thing rather than funky brain wiring, it'd be fascinating to collect the experiences and the words/sounds together and analyse the data. Imagine what we could learn? I mean, I've learnt so much from this weird language of mine about culture, history, mindset... all sorts of different pieces of information in this language... I don't know necessarily where it comes from (though I have my suspicions), but there's just so much else I have learnt because of the nature of language through these experiences. I could imagine if there was a consistent way of measuring and discerning any supernatural parts of the jamais vu and deja vu experiences we could learn so much about other places and the past lives of those individuals who experienced them, and maybe even in a measurable way.

Just out of curiosity, what are your suspicions as to where it came from, if you don't mind me asking?
And I think I'll start writing them down, if for nothing else, just to see if there is any connection. If I do see a pattern, it will probably take a while, because I only seem to do the whole jibberish thing about once a week anymore.

I have memories of a past life in a place where I was a linguist, actually not to sound vain but I actually remember being a master linguist. And the languages and dialects I knew in that life were a huge part of that life and my focus: language was my passion. I assume that this language that comes through is from that life. But there are other things that don't make sense... for one this particular life was a very long time ago.. and why logically would it come through in this life and not others? Also, what I remember of the culture from that life, it doesn't really match the inherent culture I've discovered in the language itself.
*Shrugs*

If you just have things like jamais vu and deja vu (ie, occassional relatively mild disturbances of perception) I wouldn't see it as anything to worry about.
If it is in your case caused by some kind of partial seizure activity, it seems to have been going on for years without causing you real harm and without substantially worsening - in other words, even if it is the result of electrical disturbances in your brain, it has a low chance of putting you in danger.
