Precognition and Writing
in particular character names

I think this best fits here, if it doesn't please let me know or move it
One of my strongest passions in life is writing. I've been doing it for a good number of years now with the intent of someday getting published, and can usually be seen writing in class around my notes. Recently I had to start trying to organize my years' worth of notebooks and papers so my bedroom might be livable when I'm at home. Going through paperwork, I began to notice a rather curious trend that I'm eager for opinions on.
While going through all of this, I realized that almost every close friend of mine now had a character sharing their name years before I even met them. Usually these characters matched my friends fairly well. For example, my boyfriend that I'm with now had a character sharing his name from when I first started writing when I was twelve/thirteen. I didn't meet him until I was seventeen. Him and the character match fairly well too. There are just a good number of instances like this that make me wonder how I managed to do it.
For curiousity's sake last year I began to try to match names to people. I had only fairly strong character named Matt. I knew two Matts at that point, and neither one of them fit who I imagined the character Matt to be. Within that week I met another Matt in one of my classes. Looking at him for the first moment, I thought that he fit the character well. He just felt the same as my character. Though I'll admit that one can be written off quite well to wishful thinking due to the timing and how little I knew him at the time.
My opinion is generally that writing probably serves as a channel for me in regards to things that I can't grasp well with my conscious mind. To me it would make sense that a sort of precognition could leak into my writing, especially since when I first began I didn't really know anything about psychic abilties/metaphysics/Otherkin/and the like. Looking back on my early characters I can now see why half of them were the way they were. The first strong female character that I could identify with and write well was a vampire. Most of the time I first wrote that character I didn't know that I was one (though granted not with the awesome abilities she had lol), and for the latter half of writing her story I was in self denial over the matter. I now rather enjoy reading my old writing to see the traces of stuff that I knew about on some deep level without knowing it consciously
I'm curious to know anyone's opinions about how precognition might relate into writing, or if you have similiar experiences. Thanks!

It has the same connection to writing as it does to anything. I am a musical and woodsy person. I love composing music and being in the forest. This is when all my 'precognition episodes' i'll call them happen to me. I believe precognition will happen in the way that you are most comfortable and when you're mind is most relaxed

I have had the same feelings- seeing/writing stories that *could* be possible, in meditation, while reading tarot, or doing any other activity that sets that 'flow' where your mind is free... and it feels like you can see the universe unfolding before you.
