 Blueberries
Reply with quote Report this post

Hey guys - it's been a while. Thought I'd drop by and post some interesting finds. Smile

I found a couple articles on Sciencedaily to be somewhat interesting. The first (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/04/080410115405.htm), is about a study that suggests eating blueberries could be quite beneficial to our human brains.

The second (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/11/071106122843.htm), enforces this hypothesis - while also including walnuts to the mix.

I thought this would be an interesting read to those who are seeking to improve cognition, even slightly. Perhaps this would help in meditation and such - as I suspect many members here take part in. Smile

I've read those articles before and I agree--I eat a lot of blueberries and they've worked just fine.

Hey there. I hope you don't mind me adding in. :3 It was also said somewhere that walnuts are packed full of tryptophan...triptophan? Excuse my horrid spelling... That stuff found in Turkey; a natural sedative. So if you're having trouble sleeping, you can eat a hand full of them and it should help.

Thanks for the info! <3

Hahaha, what a natural dessert to have right before bed. Blueberries, walnuts, and a bit of whipped cream. Yum!

Perhaps. I'm not sure if it said anything about blueberries. I cannot remember. I'm not sure about the whipped cream though. XD Sounds yummy.

Sounds like a great dessert indeed. I'm slightly annoyed that I haven't been getting as many blaeberries anymore since I moved south. They're quite commonly found growing like grass on some mountain peaks back home. I used to pick a pocketful wheneer I got to the top.

Also, the walnut thing on it's own is incredibly helpful, since I have horrible trouble getting to sleep, especially when I know I've got an early start the next moring.

Thanks for the collective info!
