Well I'm in the chat and no one's here, so I'll wait, I sure hope it has sound cause I'm doing other things In other windows and may not remember to check it for a while.

Otherwise send me a PM and my yahoo IM will tell me there's a message in my inbox and I'll check quick smart.

I'm tired and I've been waiting in the chatroom for 4 hours, and aside from one person who turned up when I was in the shower and left again there be no one. Maybe next Sunday. Crying or Very sad

Kenshin suggested to me that we set a chat time. I'm not sure when I'll be able to since I've been very busy lately, but perhaps you guys could set a date and time?

A time would be good. I'm normally around online about my lunchtime (not a guarantee, just a tendancy), which is about mid-to-late afternoon in america (depending on time zones of course). But as long as the time isn't when I'm sleeping I'd be up for a chatroom time. I shall be horrendously busy very soon with a lot of offline stuff, but if I've got a time to know when to come on, I can rearrange my schedules for most times.

A chat time would be fun, or better yet, if there was a way to indicate who is likely to be in the chat room and when. That way instead of having a single time, we can all aim for times when we know at least one other person will be on. I know I am typically online and able to chat at night my time, but according to this site's clock, that would be between about 11PM to 5AM. Other then that, I come and go as sporadically as a cat, especially when classes come into play, LoL. I guess I will try to spend more time in the chatroom.. and check it more often.

So what ever happened to organising a chat time?

Aside from my Tues, Wed and Thursdays, I'm generally around, not always available, but definately around. I realise for me that there's a complication in that my timezone is so far out there, but surely everyone else could come up with a couple of times and/or days so that some of the community can chat... that is if others want to...?

That would be nice - I was meaning to lately until I got busy...I wish I left that otherkin chat up on the site (the IRC one). May be something to add again later. Localizing everything seems to encourage participation. Then hopefully some bored people will sit in there and once boredom accumulates we'll have a chat.

Grin Accumulating boredom, hehe!

Well, I do remember from an old forum I used to hang out with that once you could see if someone was in the chatroom more chats occured because of the bored campers. Though, as an ex-chatroom camper it helps if they have sound to let you know that someones coming in when the chatroom isn't in the main window. Urk, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.

The sound and making the actual chat would be easy - only problem is I don't really have the time. I'm working on software that can do that (which is holding up the new community), so once that's done I'll have the time to add it to this site..rather add the community to it - I'll be completely redoing it.

*nods*

In the mean time we've still got that parachat chat, and if people can decide on a time we can do some chatting.

Ok, so... people aren't particularly vocal about setting a time to chat, so I'll go for another tack. I have tomorrow off... I'm doing nothing but catching up with people online. So it's 1.45pm here right now, at 2pm tomorrow I'll be sitting in the chat until the java lags me enough that I have to close the window (which will probably be about an hour). If you've set your own timezone into your profile settings you'll see the time I posted this reply in your time, so it's easier to convert my time of 2pm into your time of whatever. This is the link:

http://chat.parachat.com/chat/login.html?room=Otherkin_Community_Chat&width=800&height=600&lang=en

If it doesn't work the link is in the "Links" forum under "otherkin chat room".

Depending on my mood, I might even be persuaded to do a couple of quick aura or card readings for people. (Free and it'll be good practise for me.)

Is that enough to bribe people to talk to??
